When we surrender when we do not fight with life when it calls upon us we are lifted and the strength to do what needs to be done finds us ~ Oriah Mountain Dreamer
Just like a majestic tree standing tall in the midst of rain, wind, sleet or hail. It surrenders to the elements, sways with and leans into the great forces of Nature until the clouds disperse, the sun comes out and it’s purpose becomes apparent once again. To give shade and a resting place for creatures big and small. To surround us with beauty and life. To give shelter from the storm.
So then should we be there for each other. To give shelter from life’s storms. To share the fruits of Spirit; Humility, Respect, Truth, Compassion, Courage and Generosity. To provide a Sanctuary of Love. To love and be loved.
In nature, a child finds freedom, fantasy, and privacy: a place distant from the adult world, a separate peace ~ Richard Louv
Embrace the free spirited nature of your authentic self and nurture the energy that exists within. To reawaken your inner self and begin creating a life that you love is a sign of truly being a free spirit. Be the one that is constantly curious, that welcomes surprise in their life. The one that asks, “just how alive do I need to feel to be able to experience all-encompassing love?” The one that strives for balance in Mind, Body and Spirit.
Never give up on that young spirit within you, the one that sees the simplicity and beauty of nature and life through a child’s eyes.
The more often we see the things around us – even the beautiful and wonderful things – the more they become invisible to us. That is why we often take for granted the beauty of this world: the flowers, the trees, the birds, the clouds – even those we love. Because we see things so often, we see them less and less ~ Joseph B. Wirthlin
We should never take life, the people in it or our natural environment for granted. To do so is to lose the very essence of our spirit, to suffer a temporary blindness. There are so many extraordinary and inspiring people out there and so many breath-taking moments given to us by Mother Earth. We just have to open up ourselves, and our eyes, to see them. We have to open our hearts.
As we go through life, when we fail to appreciate what we have in front of us, we lose sight of the beauty that surrounds us. Like a bird in a tree, invisible, yet not.
Magical moments as day becomes dusk and the lake turns into liquid gold. When day-end dips into momentary quiet before reaching a crescendo of night sounds. A lone Great White Egret fishes for his dinner while Alligators lurk in swamp shallows. Motionless, while waiting for prey.
Then, with a grand flourish, Night drops it’s black velvet cape.
That moment when you reach for a memory and embrace it in your mind’s eye. An old love from yesteryear or an afterglow from yesterday. That moment of sweet refrain before leaning in to be kissed. That moment captured forever.
The allure of this Lake comes in many forms. From the haphazard flight of a swamp-drunk dragonfly to the stillness of a lone alligator. Hot, sultry Summers, ice-crackle Winters, a sea of water lilies and turtle lined logs. Trailing Spanish Moss drips from the trees where nesting birds amass each year; Herons, Egrets, Spoonbills and more… The huddle of cypress knees known as the wood spirits of the swamp cast shadows in the waters; a hiding place for crappies. The screech of an eagle, the flapping of wings, the swish of a kayak paddle. Sunrise, Sunset and all that comes between… Lake Martin has a way of imprinting her beauty into our hearts. A Sunrise will bring early morning light drizzling through the trees. Sunsets turn the soup green swamp into liquid gold.
We are magic. We are moments. We are dreams and we are memories. We are everything. And in the depths we swim deeper to discover that we are not born whole so we cannot be broken. We are born in twos, and we are searching, searching for the other piece, that other person to guide us home ~ Robert M. Drake
Most of us are fortunate enough to come across a kindred spirit or two in our lifetime. But to collide with one’s other half, to become one again and to be conscious and aware of its happening… Pure Bliss.
Yet another outstanding Story Hat Band created by my friend, Johnny Blackbird. Each one comes with a unique story and design. I particularly love this Story Hat Band because it speaks of Split Spirit. Step inside his blog – Mystery, front and center and take a look at his exquisite work. I have two of his Story Hat Bands.. My spirit sings when I wear them.. each one different in color and design yet both speak of courage, strength, energy and spirit. All good medicine to help me on my journey here and beyond.
I like to send messages of Love via a shell I keep next to my bed. I like to think that every time I whisper messages of Love into it, someone somewhere has picked up a shell, held it to their ear and heard the soft whispering of Universal Love through the sound of ocean waves…
Balance • Harmony • Love
“Everything changes when you start to emit your own frequency rather than absorbing the frequencies around you, when you start imprinting your intent on the universe rather than receiving an imprint from existence.” ― Barbara Marciniak
